Very good guide to driving the Nurburgring

I do not believe that the PS3 or XBox really prepare you for the Ring

Seeing it on video is better with tuition is better and then quite a few steady laps of the real thing help you to learn it...

They really help you get familiar with the track and visualising what turn is coming next. It will never be close to driving the real car. Never

Seeing videos, reading documents and driving on it virtually will all help.

Even if you have driven the real thing, you would still need to be prudent driving it again with a different car, let alone changing from a video game to the real thing.

But I do not think that the Brits who crash on their first lap, first day, first visit take that into account and I think some of them fit into the...'I drove it on PS3/XBox so I know it and can go fast here...'

We, mainly newer visitors, have a reputation at the Ring for putting it in the armco..

I guess my concern is...'I drove it on PS3/XBox so I know it and can go fast here...'
Worked to an extent for Jeremy Clarkson; yes the track (Laguna Seca?)was physically different and that caught him out, but he could still do an impressive time on a circuit he had never phsyically driven on before.
