just been searching through trackdays to book this year and ive noticed more and more now have drive by noise limits:cry:
brands hatch is the latest to be hit with the shit stick with a 95db drive by which im sure my pulsar will fail, the megabusa will deffo fail as well as the tvr

bureacracy is now spoiling every fcuking thing you ever enjoyed doing with regard to 2 or 4 wheeled fun
....think its time to join the pipe and slippers brigade and grow big marrows or pumpkins in the back garden and go to local church fetes etc:lol:

looks like cadwell park is one of the few surviving circuits where its ok with noise limits other than the small airfield type sprint circuits so will be going there instead if i get pulled up at brands in march for being over the limit.

joking aside im pretty well peeeeeed off about all this health and safety wrapped up in cotton wool, do gooder shite society we live in now :frusty:

It has nothing to do with health and safety its the i don't like this any more brigade . They buy a house near a race tracks then devote the lives to complaining about the noise then one day the the powers that be start to take notice then they fined ways of stopping it .They complained about all this illegal road racing then force people off what have been long term race tracks there's just no joined up thinking from these people.

sell up bob! buy a Tesla............what noise

saying that,When i went to Silverstone last March i was warned about my tyre noise going through the first corner so its not just about your exhaust/induction noise

Anticipated that bollox, and have an extra silencer ready to replace the tailpipe. Anybody needs one, it cost me 50 quid, total bargain

It's like people who buy a cheap house near an airport then campaign about it being too noisy. Why did they think the house was so cheap, and did they not notice there was a runway nearby?
My favourite has to be the Lucas Heights nuclear reactor in Australia; you've got all these people complaining that it's too close to their house and it should be shut down and moved... but it was there long before their house was built because it was specifically put in the middle of nowhere. If you choose to build your house next to the place, you don't get to complain about it.

I'm sure TopGear had an example of this where they said to legitimately complain about the air strip/track they were discussing you'd need to be over 90 years old because it was build during the second world war and had been in constant use since. So you'd have to have been a home owner since 1940 to have a valid complaint about the track, and cars where a lot quieter than fighter jets anyway. Everyone else had moved/built knowing it was already there because the MOD will have had a caveat about being allowed to fly whenever they needed to (possibly to launch Vulcans).

Think im going have to buy a few extra silencers then! Should have mine back by the end of the month, and with 550bhp, 44mm external, 3inch straight through exhaust, straight cut box and mechanical diffs, i might make a bit too much noise for the scrutineers!

TBH I'm not fussed about these limits anymore. Most tracks have loud days and as some have already mentioned just adding a bigger or even replacing your current silencers will make a great difference to the noise.

As for engine noise, I find it hard for an actual engine to trigger off a db meter over 95db's

If such engines as Bob's bussaarr or any VTEC's trigger it off, they must surly understand that its unavoidable as that's the way the engine is built.

On a realistic note though, most noise from a car is via the exhaust anyway and simply replacing or adding a new silencer to make the car quieter will benefit everyone in the long run?

Mine has dropped from 110db's to a much lower 91db's. I find this much better when driving and also I don't have to worry when on track; performance is still the same and it still licks flames out of the back when giving it some on the track.

Other than that back off over the start finish line where they are based and just lump it....
