My car was stolen and recovered back in September, I finally got around to removing the turbo today, and here is what at lay behind it.

The car was totally standard engine wise, even down to exhaust and catalytic converter, how do you think it got to the point where a rod decided it didn't like it inside the block?

Fuck, sorry to see that but it's been ragged so much ....maybe lost oil pressure and the bottom end didn't like it and the rod deciced to find a new home.

With any luck the top end (head etc) will be ok and you'll need a bottom end.

Here's the humour part....look away if you're a miserable twat....

It does a little bit.. haha.

Do you think the turbo will be ok, or is it hard to tell, I had hoped to sell it but would hate for it to cause damage to another persons car?

I have no intention to replace the engine unfortunately, i'm just taking bits off of it to sell and then scrapping whats left.

Hmmm, there's a good change that the turbo bearings are full of crap, best bet would be to remove the sump etc and see what the crank bearings are like to give you an idea of how much crap is in the oilways.

Non informational part....you know the score...miserable twats look away now....

They maybe stuck a brick on your throttle pedal until that happened?
did that with a Fiat Uno, 'cept we cut the bottom hose too..... we got bored of it thrashing it's nuts off before it went pop.

after about 20 mins it kept slowing down...and we thought YEAH it's gonna pop...but it revved back up and carried on...only to slow down again....

You wouldn't want to try rubbing your balls on that!

Sad stuff to see & as always the owner is left with a headache & financial loss. Really worth having decent immobilization & even some basic but well hidden immobilization switch can help prevent it being driven to destruction ...
...:lock1:um up proper ...
