Is it worth going to? :?

I just don't understand why other people just did not give it a go?
We all know that the pulsar cant win but we could of had a fun weekend and gave it a bash?

Is there anyone going to watch?

Is entry not very expensive Stu, considering the very limited time you get on the strip/handling course, if it is then that will surely put most Joe Blogg owners off as versus the big buck tuning companies they have no chance and lets be honest who wants to go and get there ass handed to them.

It was £65 per day i think? 5 runs on the handling each day so it's about the same as my MSA sprints as thats about £140 for the weekend and 4 runs a day.
get there ass handed to them. That's what i am thinking? Is it worth going down?

If you live near then I would say go, if not is it really worth the costs do get down there for only a few runs. £140 for a weekend is verging on open pitlane costs for a track day which you will get alot more track time on.

I spoke to someone who competed last year and his main complaint was the waiting times to actually run were quite bad thus causing potential issues with overheating.

Lets face it on any of the disciplines you compete in it would be unrealistic to think you could compete with the top cars as some of those time attack cars that will no doubt be competing let alone the specialized drag cars will have tens of thousands poured into them.

So Peterhead Aberdeenshire is a bit far :)
In my opinion yes, then again its you thats going to be forking out to head down.

I guess its one of these things where its great to say youve competed and it would give you a barometer of where the supposed top UK cars are pace wise compared to your own but you have to think with all the costs involved you could spend that on upgrades or a trackday at Knockhill or an additional sprint day!

The problem I found with people is that its the age old battle with the scoob's evo's and skylines - all else can eat their dust!

Personally when I did it a few years back, it was a total hoot and I enjoyed myself. For a hundred sheets its nothing really; but think about it, when has motorsport ever been about good value for money?

I've always said that we should all bang 10 cars in for the handling section and see what happens, if anything have our own little competition between members, maybe even have our own prizes afterwards for the GTiR competitors?

Once you've done your handling sections then move on to the drag racing and see what personnel best times you can achieve and do a few top speed runs.

I just took it with a pinch of salt and enjoyed the day.

thats a good idea really!

i feel kind of sorry for you stu tbh
trouble is that this totb thing is for the big tuning companies as above who have unlimited amounts of wedge to throw at their heaps.
you also have the problem with the cost.....£140 is a lot of money for sitting around waiting to do a few laps at a few seconds per lap on a coned sprint course lol
then you have (this year) the gtiroc trackday at around a week after and thats far more appealing than totb, then you have lawnys nurburgring trip on at the same time (which i for one would rather go to) and its no more expensive than totb:lol:

if there were a few people that were DEFINATELY doing totb as with what andy suggested above then i would go for sure but people for one reason or another just always bail out

10 cars on the handling section would have been great with a little competion between us

I completely forgot about this; probably because Channy had a team this year so wasn't marshalling.

We want pictures (if they are available).

From what I've gathered it was a load of crap this year?

Not seen any decent pictures from the event, not much praise for the event and there seem's to be no compiled list of everyone's best times for the three disciplines

My car's not fast enough. give me another 100bhp or so and it still won't be fast enough , but I'd look abit more respectable.:-D

Plus the top speed part of it is pretty pointless for me. I'd come last at 123mph:lol:

Just got back on the net!
Moving house.
I had a 840 mile round trip and i took me around 9.5 hrs to get down due to road works etc.

On the sat was the practice day and you could have as much runs as you wonted.
Had my first go on the 1/4 mile and got a 12.18 and 1.714 60 foot time.

On the sunday i was on the handling course and did 5 runs, first run i went a bit of course! it was very hard to see the cones!!
My times were 43.69,42.89,42.82, 41.91 and 40.97 and was sitting 19th as the fasest run up till then was 39.??

I will post up some photos and a vid later on as i am in the middle of painting my house :-(

I had 2 aims when i went down and they were, enjoy myself and dont come last and i did both!!
