Swap my Immaculate Evo IV for a mint Pulsar.

Hi guys,

I'm looking for a mint Pulsar in exchange for my Immaculate Evo IV. A completely standard GTIR would be preferred, but i understand how difficult these are to come by, so i will consider anything as long as they are mint and low mileage.

The Evo has covered 71000 kms (43000 miles). It has absolutely no scratches or dents and looks like a new car. The interior is also in exceptional condition and you could eat your dinner off the engine bay. The underneath of the car is in the same excellent condition and looks like its never been used in the wet.

The car is completely standard other than a full scorpion exhaust from the turbo back, and it was put on the car at the beginning of the year so is "as new" (i have the receipt and guarantee). The car has bilstein springs on standard shocks, and Evo V wheels with brand new tyres. It also has Ralliart mudflaps.

The cam belt was changed at the beginning of the year and full service was carried out. I changed the AYC bath fluid two weeks ago.

The car drives perfectly with absolutely no faults. Theres no sqauwking from the AYC and no knocks from the suspension and the engine is smooth and powerful. The car is fitted with the close ratio "RS" Gearbox so 0-60 is closer to 4.4seconds than 4.8. Its still restricted to 112mph so has not endured any dangerous top speed runs.

The car comes with a Clifford concept 650x alarm with spare fob. MOT until April 2010 and i will put 6months tax on for the buyer.

I truly believe this to be one of the best IV's out there, I am a member of the Mitsubishi Lancer Register and owners that have seen this car also agree. The price reflects the condition.

I'm based in the Midlands.

Im looking for £5000 so a Pulsar of similar value or cash my way.

My contact number is 07841 276876

keep the evo, you`ll be walking into a world of issues
Agreed, the evo is a better day to day car by a mile and yours will certainly be more reliable than any pulsar what with being stock and a bit younger than any Pulsar!

Also I understand your wanting rid due the mpg, well a Pulsar will be alot worse!

Probably because there are no Mint Pulsars in the world

On a serious note tho, I know what your saying Saddler. I wouldnt swap my R for an evo like that, but then its had far to much £££ spent on it and in terms of performance it would be a big step back.

The reason I recommended he kept the evo is because he cant financially afford to run it, getting a Pulsar would make no sense in that case as the newest Pulsar is over 15 years old, which brings many issues with wear, tear and general abuse. Also the mpg any Pulsar gets is poor, so again daily cost wise it would make no sense!

Also if the Evo is as mint as it seems then it would be best to keep it if you can afford itor to sell it on at a premium and get something a bit more sensible than a turbo'd jap car, as none of them are cheap to run and maintain!

Again, thanks for the imput guys. Its not a case of not being able to afford the maintenance and fuel, its drawing a line under what i wish to spend on fuel. My Evo has an RS gearbox, excellent for sprinting, but shocking when you consider you are doing 4k rpm sitting at 70 on the motorway.

how many miles do you get per tank then? most ive had sitting on motorway at 60-70mph is about 160miles but when normal driving around town i get 120miles per tank. you could always get a normal ratio evo box and change it

if its the close ratio gearbox bothering you, just swap it for a normal one. I am sure you can sell yours easily.

Why are you wanting to swap for a Pulsar or an R32 GTR when your for sale post on the MLR says your wanting to sell due to the running costs?

A deal on a pulsar will give me some money to buy a cheap runaround for long journeys. An R32Gtr will be better on long motorway journeys due to better gearing. Just because i want something thats better on fuel, doesn't mean it has to be boring ;-).

I'd swap if I thought it'd be fair, but you'd lose out mate, in my opinion
Obviously any lesser value cars would see some cash my way (which will pay for the cheap runaround). Ive seen some mint cars in the past for around 4k, so that would suit perfectly .

many thanks.

No it won't, not at motorway speeds. Ive had three gtr's.

Have you owned a GTR?

nope but someone i was talking to a while back said he only got 90miles to a tank in his r33. so how many do you think you will get on the motorway sticking at 70?

90 miles? Sounds like he either had an air leak or an ATL fuel cell!! I got more than that in my drag car, and that was nearly 800bhp!!

I would normally hit about 25mpg on the motorway in my stage 1 GTR. Please can i ask that people only comment when they actually have first hand knowledge of what they are talking about, and not "hear-say", thanks .
