K. Reg 1992 333hp forged Black R

I’m probably going to regret this but I think its time to move on from R ownership. Iv had the car for 8 years and its been great! Longest iv ever owned a car and she always puts a grin on my face and I will be sad to see her go, but I don’t get the time to use her any more with working weekends, the last track day I did was back in 2009 and I haven’t made it to a club meet for years.

Anyway before I get teary eyed and have second thoughts id better list the bits and bobs.

Shell:

Rare black model
Brought into the UK in 1999. First registered here: 12/07/1999 Built in August 1992 on a K reg.
Just ticked over 100k on clocks, so about 80k miles I reckon with a mixture of miles and km.
Sunroof model and it had air con till I removed it.
Colour coded front and rear bumper strips and rear number plate surround
Rear windows and sun roof tinted
Genuine Nissan wind deflectors ;)
Laguna splitter

Engine:

Forged engine rebuild roughly 1500 miles ago at Nissan dealer where I work.
Block wasn’t bored, just honed so has life left in it for a bore if needed in the future.
New 86mm CP pistons and rings
New Nissan bearings all round
New Nissan head gasket
Head stripped, rebuilt and shimmed with new shims
Standard cams and pulleys were fine so they went back in
New Nissan gaskets all round
New Nissan oil pump
New Nissan water pump
New Nissan timing chain and tensioner
New Nissan starter motor
Anything that was needed was replaced
Water hoses at back of engine were replaced with new samcos a few years ago

Turbo, intake, fueling and exhaust:

New Garrett GT28RS (Disco potato) turbo when rebuild was done. 0.64 (smaller) exhaust housing to minimise lag.
New Nissan Z32 AFM when rebuilt
Flow tested and refurbished 550CC Nismo injectors installed when rebuilt
Walbro in-tank fuel pump
Big KnN air filter on flexi intake pipe
Dawes device manual boost controller
Standard manifold and elbow
Scorpion stainless exhaust from front pipe back with de-cat pipe
Distributor and leads were new in 2009 and NGK plugs were new with rebuild

ECU etc:

Apexi power FC
AEM wideband lambda sensor and gauge with output for data logging

Cooling:

Radtek large front mounted inter-cooler with really short pipe run
Radtek large aluminium radiator with single high flow fan
Big 19row Mocal oil cooler front mounted with thermostatic sandwich plate using braided hoses

Suspension:

Tein super street coil overs with adjustable top camber mounts.
I spent days setting the geometry up properly!
Jim’s castor mod on front
Home done camber mod on back.
Whiteline front and rear anti-roll bars with poly bushes.
Rest of bushes are standard
Front and rear cusco strut braces
4 point cusco lower front brace
4 point bolt in rear cage that allows the use of rear seats (No diagonal bars)

Brakes, wheels and tyres:

K-Sport 6pot front brake kit with 300mm discs and Mintex 1155 pads only done about 2-3k miles
Rear brakes standard with Mintex 1155 pads again done 2-3k
Braided brake hoses all round
17” lightweight multi-spoke alloys (Kosei) I think, powder coated in metallic black last year
Good Goodyear Eagle F1's all round with loads of life left.
New rear brake lines made up from front to back last year

Drivetrain:

RPS Max street clutch rated to 450lb ft only done about 4k miles
Fidanza lightweight flywheel
Gearbox was stripped and rebuilt with new bearings and 2 new syncros in 2009.
Fairly recent master and slave cylinder
Clutch pedal support bracket
Strengthened clutch fork
Poly bush gear shifter bush
Braided clutch hose

Interior:

Lockwood white dial kit.
Standard seats etc
Suede 330mm steering wheel on boss, have Nardi Torino leather wheel with boss too
4 point harness on drivers seat as well as standard belts all round
2 pod pillar gauge holder thingy with boost gauge and AEM wideband AFR gauge
Battery in box in boot along with washer bottle
Good stereo set-up with 4 channel Clarion amp in boot driving 6x9's on parcel shelf and 6” clarion components in sound deadened front doors, clarion head unit with AUX in and hard drive.

Car will have a fresh MOT and will be taxed for 6 months.

Mapped by Matt at TRL Halifax making 333bhp and 300lb ft at the fly. Spools up ridiculously quick with the smaller exhaust housing (20psi by 3000rpm). If you changed the exhaust housing for the 0.86 and remapped it she would make 370ish at a guess on the same turbo. But I prefer the minimal-lag approach. Boost peaks at 20psi and drops to 16psi higher in rev range as the turbo is maxed out. Injectors were at 90% duty IIRC at standard base fuel pressure. The torque curve is pretty flat so i rairly have to go above 5k rpm.

The important bits.

The car has just come back from the bodyshop having had both sills replaced with new Nissan items so the shell is solid and been properly undersealed!

Only bad points I suppose are: Rear arches need doing. Drivers side isnt too bad, passenger side needs a bit of work.
Bodywork isn’t amazing, its not bad but this isn’t a show car, there’s a few light scratches here and there and stone chips on the bonnet and front bumper but what do you expect for a 22 year old Nissan Sunny. Its been a drivers car not a show n shine. Im probably making it sound worse than it actually is.

To sum up:

£4250 ono

All you will need to do is sort the rear arches if you wish.

Please no tyre kickers.

I’m based just North of Liverpool, 15mins from the end of the M57 and M58.

Cheers

Dan

Good luck with the sale Dan. I know you have lots on your plate nowadays so it's no surprise.

I can vouch for this car as one that's been in the NW for a long time and has been annoyingly reliable. Whilst myself and Stumo were trying to eek out every last hp and breaking bits, Dan just kept sensibly modifying his car into this lovely handling, responsive car.

The arches are annoying as they weren't noticable when I last saw the car but for every positive detail Dan's mentioned I know there are lots more tweaks he's made over the years to improve the car.

P.S. Dan we'll have to go out in it one last time before it goes for old times sake

Cheers Jim,

Its provisionally sold subject to a viewing next week, so you will have to shoot down monday/tuesday if you fancy a run? Just give me a ring matey!

I am sad to see her go to be honest, had some great fun in it over the years, and it is really finally how i wanted it to be in terms of handling and speed. But life (work) rather just gets in the way. Hey ho.

Cheers
