Japshow Finale - September 17th and 18th September 2011

Hi,
I am organising an event for Jap Show for the Weekend of Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th September.

Quarter mile is the main attraction but there is a small handling track (not great).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xXTUNwsyRIw

I have been talking to Banzai Magazine about a GTiR Feature as well and they will be doing a show feature on our cars for their magazine.

The link is here - http://www.japshow.co.uk/index.html

Price is £20 for Jap Cars and £25 for Non Jap Cars (paid in advance) and this covers both Saturday and Sunday entry into the Club Section.

Camping is available as well as Caterers, Licensed Bar, Lap Dancing and other things.

The cut off date for discount booking in advance is Friday 9th September at 5.30pm so I will need numbers and payment no later than Thursday 8th September.

If we have any money left in the kitty, I will put this towards Trophies for the Quickest GTiR's down the strip and handling circuit.

GTiR's are a dying breed so it would be great to get as many members together to promote us.

It has been a while since we had a massive GTiR event so would appreciate your support in making this event a worthwhile one.

Some of us will be racing but even if your not into quarter mile or small track, it is a great opportunity to pick up new ideas and meet up with other members.

Dont forget your Driving License as well.

Unlimited Runs for the Strip are £25 per day or £20 for 4 Tickets.

If you have any questions then please let me know.

By "Banzai" are you talking about "Honda Fancier's Monthly"? I honestly don't think they've ever published a copy that doesn't have at least one piece about a Honda in it somewhere, and last month that's all they did wasn't it?

They've said these things before; look at the 20th Anniversary thing at JTS, it was their feature event and we didn't even get a mention despite tying-up the track for a considerable amount of time.

There is never a guarantee that they are going to do a Show Feature on the GTiR's but they have assured me they will. The more cars we have at the event the better the feature I would have thought.

Unfortunately we dont have many events where lots of GTiR owners turn up. In fact, the last one I remember was JTS 2010 for the 20 year reunion. Putting Banzai Magazine aside, I think it would be great to just have a good turn out of GTiR's to show others that we are still going strong.

Yeah, sorry for the rant.

It's mainly that I emailed Joe when he published that editorial saying "where have all the GTiRs gone", and told him about JTS... and they still didn't bother to cover it even though they published my email.

Perhaps part of the problem is that many owners aren't really interested in drag racing so don't see the apeal of an event like this. - I might see what the wife says, but until I've got an MOT and some road tax I shouldn't even think about it.

No worries.

I thought that Jap Show would be a good meeting place for members as it is resonably central for those in the South East, North West and Midlands and is reasonably priced. Drag racing is the main attraction but there are other things going on as well during the day so will hopefully appeal to more people.

Hopefully the thought of a GTiR meeting will be enough to attract attendees :-D

Lol. Your not wrong. I am not getting the response I was hoping for.

I have 3 GTiR's for definate which I suppose is a start.

Perhaps if I offered to pay for peoples entry and their costs for the weekend I might get a better response :-o

You start off with all the will in the world towards sorting out events, but after 3 years trying it does wear you down when you get little or no response :?

I'd normally go to JSF, but with my knackered car I ain't going.
