Thanks for the comments guys.

I've loved this car and would really like the next owner to love it as well, so id rather be honest about the work required then the new owner knows what is required and there are no surprises and can get it back on the road.

I've seen the welding work required on the sills quoted as anything from £200 to £1000. £800 is probably a realistic figure, but if you're able to do the work yourself even better.

Even at the top end of those quotes, with the car only £2k and prices rising I think it's a good deal.

Anyway I have agreed a price with one buyer who is hoping to collect it tomorrow and another who wanted to come over Thursday, but I said I'd accepted an offer and wanted to honour that deal.

Either way it will hopefully have a new owner soon. :)

Aye? don't see many people sorting the turrets where the problems come from in the first place.....
I'm expecting to see a fair few shells in the coming years to literally fall apart at the back with potentially deadly consequences.
That's what I'm worried about. - I know I've got a hole at the rear of my car, and it needs metal cutting out and new steel welding in... it got through the last MOT, but I need to put the money aside to get it sorted sooner rather than later.

I've been saying "once we're in the new house" for so long... but all the money then gets spent on the house instead of the poor car. - At least it will be going into a dry garage instead of parked off the road on gravel.

Car is now sold.

Thanks again for all the comments.

The new owner has been a member on here for 4 months thought not posted yet. Hopefully he will stick around and keep me/us updated on the cars return journey back to full road use.

It's gone to a good home. I'll leave it up to him if he wants to introduce himself and share his plans for the car.

@Dangerous Dave he may well be in touch for some parts and thanks again for your PM, you were just a few days too late.

I had 3 people message me in the last week wanting the car and even a guy knock on the door when I was waiting for the new owner to arrive this afternoon!

I'll probably still check in on here from time to time. Once you've owned an R for almost 20 years I'm not sure I'll ever get them out of my head.

Cheers,
Curtis
