I'm planning to get the engine home tomorrow and speaking to the engine builder he said I should fit it sooner rather than later or just keeping turning it over by hand periodically.

The first plan sounds better! I'd normally throw on a BBQ for help with getting the engine in and out but it's a bit cold out there! Hot tea and bacon butties might be more appropriate

I'm still overloaded with house projects but wondered when the usual suspects might be free and if there is anyone else who could lend a hand in the NW. I expect the usual suspects are also overloaded with house projects too!

Mr Chan always used to bring the crane but I can hire one of those for £15 as we don't see him around much

Stu(mo)'s knees still need to rest but he's already offered his quality control services.

Once the engine is in I can finish it off at my leisure over the coming months

    What do we reckon :)

I'll bring all my tools that could be of some use!
Just let me know if I can help!

There isn't really anything in my calendar at the moment; I've used up all my leave now until the new financial year.

I don't know that I've got any tools that you two haven't already got; I'd offer brute force and ignorance, but I'm a bit short on brute force. - Moral support? Someone to make sure Stu doesn't try to help?

I'm tempted Jim traveled up on Sunday for the football eight hours for a journey the should take 4. 1/2 hours then we lost 1.0  The last journey a few weeks ago was also a eight hour journey both times the M6 was closed between j .15 and j.16 north bound! I'm starting to love the train :hushed:

Can you get an engine hoist on the train?

I'd better get at least one car MOT'd or I won't be going anywhere.

Do it during rush hour. - I've taken the piccadilly line from Heathrow before and never seen quite such a look of disgust for having my luggage taking up space on the tube... and I didn't give a shit what they thought because I was still in holiday mode.

I wasn't going to pay stupid money for the overland train when I could take the tube with an Oyster card... but having said that I try not to use London airports if I can avoid them.

Hello gents. Sorry I've been so quiet recently, work and house projects have kept me fully occupied. I'm away with work a lot of April too so it it might be another month before I can get to the R. Will keep you informed.

That's OK by me. - I need to get both cars MOT'd before I can re-tax them... and as the usual form is for the Datsun to fail and need work I don't expect to be driving anywhere for about a month anyway.
