hi folks. had the R for 6 weeks or summin now but i am already used to the 300bhp that its producing, bit of a speed freak so got in touch with ninja tune factory about a 500bhp rebuild, and he's kinda goin down the hks 2.2 stroker kit road, but thats 5grand already. just wondering if there was a cheaper alternative to a stroker kit? i know a need forged internals, hooooge turbo, fmic, power fc(got a mines unit already, know nuthin about it tho), and all the otha parts needed for big power, so just wondering if you guys had any idea bout parts and prices? i hear Rishi is the guy to ask cing as he is creating a monster motor at the moment, but any help would be appreciated guys.

Cheers Ricky

Still waiting on some shims!
First words of advice are to ditch the Mines ECU as you can't map it...

Look at the AEM ECU or Power FC Pro...

Just drop me a PM detailing what you want out of the car... what you want to use it for Road & Track or dedicated Track etc and i'll be able to help...

if your serious you'll get all the support and knowledge you'll need. if you aint you'll get shot down in flames

I've got a feeling this is a flaming exercise

Budget £10K minimum for 500hp from 300 hp and you're getting close. 400hp would be cheaper as your boxes might at least last 5 minutes but I'd be surprised if you'd get its any cheaper than £5K.

300hp is easy.

Stroker kit isn't 5k fella, there taking out the behinds  , You get get them for 2k to 2.5k at most.

Then add a grands worth of machineing and building costs and maybe a set of cams and you'ed be good to go, 2.0lt's will get you to 400-500bhp no problem the only thing your gain from the stroker kit is torque mate.

It will also help a big turbo spool up quicker  .

I'm thinking about it at the moment, If I sell my new pistons and rods i'd be half way to a stroker kit lol.

But it all adds up at the end of the day by the time you'ev got a new grarbox that can cope ie quaife (£3000) engine £3000-£5000 depending on spec, Then you have the new injectors/air filter/exhaust/turbo/ECU you wont be seeing any change from 10k as people have already said.

cheers for that rob, i had doubts as to the price of the stroker kit, but that is what ninja tune factory quoted me. the gearbox in my car is already an uprated close ratio 1, so hopefully should be good for round about 450+brak'ish. will defo need bigger injectors, turbo, ecu etc so just have to wait and see what rishi says to it. now all a need to do is start saving.... or get another loan  lol.

No worries fella  , I was talking to mate that picked up a stroker kit for his skyline for £2000  , You just need to shop around and never ever buy stuff like that from a uk based tuner  .

Rishi will sort you out with some good prices for stuff like that, My pistons where only $680 including $180 of special coatings 8) .

My rods where $800 instead of the £800 plus uk based companys charge for them :? .

Same for my B&M quick shift $140 instead of £160 there all robbing c*nts so steer clear fella  .

Vpulsar, i agree, ive been looking all over the web for some decent alloy wheels and have noticed that a wheel what costs 300 quid here works out in some cases to be like 150 dollers, which is about 90 quid, so how come we pay so much more for parts?

I think im gonna take the ordering from USA route. In the scenario i just stated there was a 210 quid difference, it cant cost 210 quid in tax/vat/customs surley . So there is defo huge savings to be made.
