So what exactly is the difference in core make up then? is it internal chamber dimensions etc? The later core seems to be the same or very similar to the earlier one from the outside i must admit.

Interested to know why it has extra welds on the end tanks, maybe you could post up when you recieve it? Ive just noticed that has a black plaque on the front edge compared to my silver one, maybe thats a difference between the early and late.

Congrats on the purchase, its only got to help in the cooling dept and im sure we all could do with that during a little track action.

Let us know how you find any improvements in performance or cooling etc. Also pics of the internals (if poss) to try and establish the differences between what seems to be early and late models.

Im not 100% sure but the end tanks seem to be a little larger on the one you have bought, out of interest and if possible, try and marry up the OE cover with the ARC TMIC and see if there is a considerable difference in size, if so then that will be the additional mod, as mine fits with the OE cover on to.

Ant.

I'll have loads of time to check it out and make physical comparisons as my car's in bits right now. I'll let you know!

Having received the ARC TMIC I can now compare it with the OE TM.
It's been through the wars, dented in a few places and the inlet / outlet pipes look like they were an added extra. I have flushed it through and pressure tested it and it hold air so I am happy with my purchase!
OE core thickness is 60mm... ARC is 68mm
OE has 24 chambers, ARC has 14 (but thicker) chambers.
Side tanks are the same.
OE chrome cover will fit with a minor adjustment.

Looks good.

TBH i think the majority if not all are a little rough around the edges due to their age, but as long as they hold pressure and have no negative results all is good to go imo.

It does seem however that these items were very changeable in design as mine doesn't have the welded type inlet / outlet pipes, looks exactly like the OE apart from the core of course.

I also found that the inlet / outlet pipes were slightly larger to, slightly

My OE cover fits on, a little stretch and you will have it on  Looks good though and will be a nice addition imo.

Well done matey

Cheers Ant!
I did not expect it to be new looking, out the box.
I have flushed it out and will give it a clean up on the outside.
And yes, the OE cover will fit on after a tweak here and there, mainly it's length wise that's stopping it for seating right.
I'm going to fit a heat blanket mid way between the rocket cover and IC to minimise the rising heat.
I may also look at modind the OE TMIC to make it into a FMIC by rotating one of the end tanks...... that's another story though!

Im sure you would be able to modify the piping to encorporate a T or Y branch and fit the TMIC and FMIC lol greedy bugger

When my ARC is off (probably not long ) ill take some pics and post for you to see the slight difference.

I'm not the greedy.... one or the other.... can you imagine the lag when you try to charge two IC's in line...;-) ... instant poke is what I'm after.
Look forward to your pics!

Mine was a bit bashed about too, think i spent about an hour straightening out all the fins, and also mine doesnt have welded inlet/outlet like that one. Be good if we could find out the differences between models. Ill see if i can find a picture of mine.
