The car has not been used in 5 years and has been wrapped up nicely in the garage. Before I took it off the road I had the full Tein Suspension with new poly bushes fitted, this also includes the Tein EDFC which is the electronic damping force controller which allows you to adjust the damping from within the car. Cusco front and rear anti roll bars and a new stiffer rear sway bar fitted and set up by the Pulsar guy Steve Ferguson on Brunel Street in Newcastle. I also have brand new polycarbonate windows that will come with the car that are unfitted and two spare front wings for the car. There is also a brand new full set of blue samco engine hoses that are unfitted that will come with the car.

The car has an absolute monster spec and the only parts that it needed to be a truly complete car was better brakes and callipers fitted because the standard ones just let the car down. That was on my to do list but life got in the way and it never came to be.

The bad bits. There is a dent in the passenger side wing near the bottom and the one problem that the car had just before I took it off the road was that it hesitated when accelerating past 4k revs, I never had a chance to get this issue fixed. It has no MOT or TAX and the battery will be knackered as has not been used for so long, so ideally will need to be trailored away.

I’m looking to sell the car because I have finally decided, against my heart, that the time to sell has come, as I am not going to put it back on the road. Plus I need the garage space to store my Honda Beat as it is coming off the road for a more practical Vauxhall Zafira haha!

Spec of car as follows:

Hiteq built 2.2 stroker.
Half weight crank
Custom rods
JE forged pistons with keronite coating
Motec M48 Pro ECU
Gas flowed head
HKS 264 cams
HKS head gasket
Top mount exhaust manifold
Turbonetics T3/T4 hybrid roller bearing turbo
Tial external wategate and screamer pipe
JGY high volume fuel rail
Msd 720 injectors
Custom front mount i/c and radiator set up
Blitz boost controller
Quaife syncro box, built by Hiteq
OS Giken twin plate clutch
Currently mapped at 1.6 bar, dyno’d at 348bhp at the wheels and 400lb/ft torque, so a genuine 400bhp + at the flywheel.
Hi spec big brake kit (std calipers)
Tein superstreet coilovers with EDFC damping controller.
Cusco front and rear anti roll bars.
Fully Poly bushed suspension.
Clifford concept alarm
Fully undersealed.
Unfitted set of polycarbonate windows.

The cars interior has been fitted with red bucket seats and retrimmed rear seats in red to match, parts of the dash have been painted silver when I bought it, while this looks pretty hideous It didn’t bother me as I bought it for the performance.

The engine is certainly capable of 600bhp +. Every major expense in building the car has already been spent, parts alone would probably cost well over 20k, without buying the car. I have receipts for pretty much everything.

I am not interested in breaking the car It just needs to go to a good home where someone can put it to it's proper use.

These pics are before the suspension, arb's and EDFC were fitted.

Thank you,
Scott.

I will post up pictures asap and I am open to sensible offers, I bought the car for 8k and it has had a lot of money spent on it since, I do appreciate that it has been sat for a while but the parts alone are worth a fortune.

It is the Red car.

I think you'll be better off breaking it bud, without sounding awful I doubt anyone will pay what you want for it

have to agree really for 9k id want to car fully working with tax and mot
think 9k is a lot of money for a car not running right especially when you consider it took a year or so for phil to sell his car and that was cheaper

It is a lot of money but if anyone is genuinely interested then they can contact me to work something out. I have been honest about everything so i'm not wasting anyones time.

I don't need to sell, to be honest I don't really want to and I wont let it go for a bag of quavers and half a rich tea biscuit, even though rich teas are awesome.

If I didn't have to do the brakes on my Audi I'd be interested. What's the current state of the car? Is it driveable with an MOT and will it pass one?

The car is in great shape, it will pass an Mot no problem, there is nothing wrong with the car at all apart from the hesitation after 4k revs. I will get close up detail shots of the car including any imperfections so you can judge the condition for yourself, I'll get them in about an hour.

Scott, the spec is great but your asking top dollar for an unproven car.

for the sake of £40 I would strongly suggest u have it motd as it should bring some interest to the table.

I would also suggest you get the hesitation sorted.

good luck with your sale

Probably a map tweak or fuelling problem. If it's been sat a while have you checked the fuel lines?

I'd be very interested but without all the bits which aren't fitted. The only parts I'd like would be the big brakes, for obvious reasons :)

What's the bottom line, without all the bits and pieces?

I'd do as Dan says, and then not budge a bit on the price, would only cost you a few hundred quid to sort it out.... Nobody could replicate it for 9k so stick to your guns, My point was that decent cars/parts just aren't selling at the moment, so breaking won't shift it any quicker unless you mugg yourself off by selling it all cheap, for e.g, people seem to lap up 'forged' engines for 2k which basically consist of a 400 quid set of pistons, probably just wanged together, no torque plate used for the machining, probably put together with a ten year old torque wrench that hasn't been calibrated for the last 5, anything over that and nobody wants to know, weird as it's a proper false economy, but hey ho....... A couple of years back i reckon i would've sold everything, now, i've had not one bit of interest in anything worth good money, 10k engine for 4k nope, 3.1k unused turbo kit for 2.1k, nope, 2k cooling kit for 1.1k, nope.... lol, Your cars worth the money mate, but the gtir scene in general is a cheapskates one and as people see all the mediocre stuff stuff selling cheaper they expect the good stuff for the same price.....

Agree with Empty pockets; I've had about 6 of these over the years from mediocre to crap, which is why I'm looking for a sorted car without all the headaches and ballache. It's true that lots of them have been "thrown" together but few of the buyers out there appreciate the value of a sorted car fully. In truth, all these cars are very pricey given the age and lack of cult status they once had, so many are unwilling to go much higher than a glass's valuation. Myself, I'm looking to spend a max of £5k but really am not looking for such a mental beast as this one, just 380bhp ish on sensible mods and looked after. Trouble is with a £9k car and don't take this the wrong way, you can pickup one hell of an Evo for that kind of money (505bhp machine on certain auction site right now) and they will always fetch more as they aren't essentially 25 year old technology. To be brutually honest if I don't get a response from gtirstevo this weekend I'm probably off to Brum to buy a white Evo 6 with 400bhp and a bit of history on Sunday :)

If you buy an evo mate, do a fair bit of research first, the cp9a's (4/5/6) suffer the same problems now they're getting so cheap, also check inside the rear chassis rails/box sections and around the diff/subframe mounting points as these seem to rot worse than a pulsars arch, even the ct9a's suffer bad from this... Also, birmingham seems to be the capital for shoddy performance cars from backstreet traders, you'll know when you turn up & spot 2 or 3 performance cars parked up in a dog shit riddled garden.... There's some bargains to be had though & they're awesome cars if you get a good one, my mate picked up a lovely 8 260/gsr last year for 6k, big spoiler, Ralliart leather/alcantra seats, remapped, exhaust etc, should get a nice 5 or 6 for 5k if you don't rush into it mate.
