Just taxed and insured it today. Big smiles. Drives better than I thought it would.

Its still for sale at the moment for £2750 (thats really now £2600 due to the tax) but dont be surprised if I take it off the market.

1st to see and be taken out in it WILL buy it.

What's the mileage? My son might be interested. Anything wrong with it?

I thought it was an easy question lol. Just the usual things you'd look for when looking at a car. Tyres near the limit, brakes very worn, dents, rust, anything not working, holes in the interior. That sort of stuff.

    Come and see it.
The only thing wrong with it is I should have asked £3500 for it, like everybody else.
Its a steal, a bargain, the f ing sale of the century.
Everybody that has seen it so far has said so.

I'll see what he says. He's wanting to get one from near Manchester.

    You cannot win................you really cannot.
Find a low mileage one 80K (been clocked?) , pay 4K for it then be surprised when the camchain gets a bit rattly (as they all do) then buy £320 worth of new honda bits (chain, tensioner, guides) to fix it and spend a weekend doing an awkward job. Still a bargain?
So far I have been offered a passat in px, asked 'whats your lowest price, mate' , another saying the insurance is too high, someone asking what the mpg is.
    WTF
The world has changed, for the worse.
When I see something I am seriously interested in, I get in the car and go see it, try to suss the seller, give it a good looking over and test drive

Jon calm down. If something seems dirt cheap, I'm always abit wary as there's often something wrong/being hidden. I have no reason to mistrust you as I've known you on here for years. You've also bought stuff off me in the past, but it's my sons' money and he's asking the same questions I would. (only difference is he seems to find the dogs and I haven't (yet)) I'll see what he says.

If it's a 150mile round trip I'd just like to make sure it's not a wasted journey before I even set off. How often do you see on the net people moaning that they've gone to see a minter and it's been an old dog. (that's not aimed at you Jon)

LOL. Your right, on re reading it, i have come across a bit strong. pm me if you need/want more info, pics etc.

On the tech side ( i like to know and sample what else is available), Ive got to say it has some real nice design points. Proper brakes, strong suspension. cracking cylinder head. The short engine has a lot of similarity to the GTIR.
The front subframe looks real interesting. For a transplant into something else......
    Steering is a little dead.
Yes, I think it would make a great next rally car....
