Changed the plugs and thankfully it seems to have cured it. Goes like a rocket! But the idle is still funny. Sometimes it's ok at 900-950, sometimes it's over 1,500 and sometimes down to just 500. Any ideas?

Are the strengthning plates (plates with the round holes) necessary or can the car do without them? Only that mines were rusted so were cut from the bottom half (as you can see), but not sure if they were repaired and re-welded to the sills.
