    you should be able to just bend the bracket back to shape. as for the missing bolt, i have put a couple of m12 bolts in the helicoil kit i have just posted to you so one of them should do the job. good luck

    i had the same problem mate, but it looked as though it was double skinned so i got away with with tapping and helicoiling it. i have definately got a full m12 helicoil/tapping kit you can borrow if you like and i can probably get hold of an m14 too.

    yeh you will be able to get to it underneath reaching up with a couple of extensions. you can only hope that the bolt isnt seized

    my car ran like crap when i had fault code 34, changed the sensor a few weeks back and all is well. the old knock sensor was in a bit of a sorry state and the plastic was all cracked

    i think they are only after the dimensions for size and weight etc so they can get an idea of how much material is required so they can give a better idea of cost. if they were to go ahead and do some casts then they would need a gearbox anyway

    its more the torque that kills the box but it would be interesting for the people that are using helical cut gears to see just how much end load the case can take before it pops off.

    i dont think its a matter of alot of machining to do, just the fact its a bit of precision machining. i cant imagine it costing too much to machine a batch of them but could be surprised

    i would have took that off your hands for £25, not to worry. suppose atleast theres peace of mind by putting a new one in depending how many miles yours has done. i'll be attempting mine next week when it arrives, just hope its not as much of a tw@t as it seems

    apparently vss irvine off here is the man for these but if you have no luck, try ebay us. i have just bought one brand new for approximately £45 to my door. the correct part number for it is 22060-30P00
