sorted peeps, will get a pic up of what was causing this. The shaft that links the gearbox with the transfer box was broken and the clutch was on its way out so changed gearbox, transfer box and clutch. All that put a dent in my back pocket :(
when i took the refill bolt off it was completly dry inside. Put in 2.5 litres till it couldnt take anymore. I think if it was the crank then it wouldnt make a sound from the passenger side drive shaft. oh well might sell the car as iv had enough, problems, problems, problems.
right, has anyone left there gearbox on their r with no oil and driven it?thats what i did and thats whats started making the noise. I filled it back up and it quietened down a little. can someone confirm this?
The engine mounts are near new condition mate, just been out in the car and it makes the crunching noise everytime I suddenly boost the car. If it is the crank then is it an easy fix?
everything was done professionally, now really upset as its been 3 weeks and spent over 24 hours looking for what it is, comes from the passenger side.
i dont think its that though, the engine has only done 200 miles and it is a Tomei stroker kit. car runs fine in all other gears if you dont hit any boost.
anyone?i put near gear box oil in, still the same, replaced one of the drive shafts, still the same, checked the starter motor, still the same, now dont know what to check
Iv replaced one of the drive shafts it makes the noise if u release the clutch quickly in first or second and give it some revs apart from that the noise don't come when going fast or slow only. :( been 3 weeks and can't even drive it that much
Just put more oil into gearbox and it's still the same if you try doing launch control it makes a crunching knocking noise from passenger side anyone had that problem?
right its not the starter motor thats causing this. can anyone tell me if you get a clonking noise if you drive an 'r' with low or nearly no gearbox oil?
