Actually that was quite interesting; even that long ago it wasn't all people complaining about the cost. There are things that have been bought (as suggested) like the banners etc to go up at shows... although if nobody ever goes to any, those spend most of their time on a shelf. :doh:
As Carl said back then, there are members who do go to the trackdays, meets, etc and save more money than they spend each year... and there are those who never go to anything so feel like they're getting a bad return.
Reading that thread, it does seem like part of the original idea was to keep the free-loading riff-raff out. ;-)
...but as a moderator do I know what our financial status is or what the money does/doesn't get spent on? No.
Would I like to see more tangible benefits for people (so they'll stop complaining about the cost)? Yes.
I'm pretty sure that if members want to organise an event, or are attending one (probably with a stand) the club can subsidise it. - That means actually getting one than one or two people to attend though; plan something and get a commitment from members... don't just expect someone else to do it then complain when they didn't.
(This isn't directed at anyone in particular; it just seems like there were a lot of people saying "What will the club be doing this year? I'm not paying until you tell me.")

Back in the day, I was a mod when paid membership came in.It was actually requested by some members, although I disagreed with fees.That's by the by, you have to go with the majority and they are here, a fair price for the information available.
I would like to see a more fun use of funds though such as a free for members day at York/Santa Pod(cost of entry& strip fee) or a more substantially subsidised trackday(say £50 off) with limited numbers.Both these would obviously eat into funds and would have to be monitored closesly, but from all the events I've been to, have never seen more than half a dozen gtir's turn up so even double/treble that should leave plenty in the kitty.

Oh...and I think the grilles are ridiculously priced.You can nearly buy an old shitter for some of the prices quoted.

tbh i cant see what everyones whining about....its fooking £20 not £200 and so what if someones sticking a few quid in there pocket lol
it must be a right pain in the ass job to keep a forum up n running everytime the thing goes down, if no one put in the time and effort to keep it running then there would be no gtiroc atall.
how many of you's at some stage will want to sell either their car, parts or other shite like mobile phone, personal car, and stuff like that?
stick it on ebay or whatever and see how much they rip you off with fees etc so twenty quid aint nothing, other than just something else to complain about:doh:

last i heard nissan wanted £800 and then are no longer availible as of about a year ago.personally i think anyone who pays more than £450 needs there head testing unless they plan to copy them to make there money back.i would like a set made of carbon fiber

All black, or would you like a selection of colours? - Obviously I'd only be interested in KJ7, so I'd like to see every factory colour available in the gel coat rather than sprayed if possible.
