My R did us proud

Went to York raceway on Sunday drag racing. I was number X68 and Managed a 3.4 second 0-60 mph time and an 11.9 1/4 mile! That meant I won the ultimate 4x4 class an think it made a few people take note of the R. A good day all round! :)

Thanks! :) Forged engine, quaife box, os giken clutch, apexi power fc, hks boost controller, but just a roller bearing t28. 1.4 bar, 339.1 bhp and 380 lb/ft. It was good wiping the deck with the evo's, imprezas and cossies who were running 440BHP.

I'm guessing there was some ball rubbing involved, but it was more a case of tea bagging some EVO owners who will be quite upset with that!

Ha ha Stumo! I thought about it but didn't bother, I didn't want to steal your guys ritual! Yes, still running well so will be at the sprint day! Got some 888's to put on it now as well for Essex! :) I didn't bother with them at York as it kept raining.
lightning the R just involved takin out the rear seats an parcel shelf, besides the obvious engine stuff already removed an scrapped! I was doing a 113 over the line so not a bad guess there!
Cant wait for the sprint day again now, let's see if it goes back home on an AA truck again like it did 2 years ago! ;-)

That's a lot of torque for 1.4bar?

I'm wondering, how can you ramp up the lbft with much lower bhp figures? Turbo restrictor?

Have a smallish turbo, run lots of boost at low rpm and batter the boost controller to get early spool.

Look at the vag 2.0 tfsi engine, they make crazy torque at low rpm with their k03 turbos. Its not quite the same though as they are a more modern engine with those high pressure fuel pumps(think they are driven off the cams) which deliver psi that would have a nice little fire going in our engines bays.
